Performance Paper 3 Annex 1 - Individual project summaries

This document contains updates on several projects by the Cairngorms National Park Authority to enhance the natural environment and support local communities. These include expanding woodlands with planting on Atholl and Glen Fender, developing an Aspen Network, and establishing a Community Tree Nursery, alongside efforts to restore peatlands, with 12 projects planned for 2026/27. Nature recovery initiatives involve operating and planning deer larders for venison supply, developing future skills for estate staff, creating woodland corridors, and piloting conservation grazing. Additionally, the Park Authority is supporting sustainable farming practices through training and scenario modelling, improving climate resilience in catchments by restoring rivers and managing flood risks, and exploring green finance options. Finally, there's an ongoing consultation process to gather community preferences on landscape changes to inform future development within the National Park.
