Policy 5: Landscape Non-statutory Guidance (updated)

This document contains non-statutory guidance that forms part of the Cairngorms National Park Local Development Plan 2021 and applies to planning applications within the Cairngorms National Park. It provides a framework for considering landscape interests in development proposals, in accordance with Policy 5. The guidance outlines landscape considerations, including special landscape qualities, National Scenic Areas (NSAs) and Wild Land Areas (WLAs). It also discusses private roads and ways, emphasizing the importance of conserving and enhancing the landscape character and special landscape qualities of the National Park. Finally, it addresses how to assess the effects of development on landscape interests and provides a list of information sources.
