Summary - Session 4 - Survey responses

This document contains a summary of survey responses from 16 panel members about the best way to manage the Cairngorms 2030 Communities Fund. The panel discussed potential changes to the fund's structure, such as having two grant sizes instead of three, creating a dedicated fund for individual skills, or separating the budget for equality, diversity, and inclusion initiatives. For small grants, most favoured a simple, criteria-based approach, often combined with community input. Medium grants also showed strong support for criteria-based assessment, alongside more community involvement through local panels and deliberation. For large grants, while clear criteria were seen as crucial for rigour, there was also significant backing for community participation, including public votes, indicating a desire for both thoroughness and wider community say in bigger decisions.
