Drawing on nature

Reserve a spot

Observing the natural world around us, in this workshop by Jana Emburey, we will pay attention to small fragments of our woodland and gain a better understanding and appreciation through drawing.

Take a walk through Anagach woods, guided by Jana, exploring, taking photographs, sketching and collecting natural materials. In the event of bad weather, the workshop will take place entirely within the hall with materials provided by the artist. Attendees are also invited to bring natural materials along.

The workshop is about enjoyment and trying your hand at something new. Everyone is welcome, no matter your age or ability.

  • Minimum age 10+ years (under 16s must be accompanied by an adult, also on a bookable ticket).
  • Light refreshments (tea, coffee, water, juice, biscuits) will be provided at the hall.
  • Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for the woodland walk.

If you have any questions or require assistance to book a place on this workshop, please phone 01479 873535.

Bookings close at 10pm on Thursday 25 September 2026.

The Park Authority provides leadership to all those involved in the Cairngorms and works in partnership with a range of communities, businesses, non-government organisations and public sector partners to deliver practical solutions on the ground.

Group of six people stood around a table with a map on it, in deep discussion. Behind them are two Park Authority staff stood in front of a large map of the National Park, as well as two pop-up banners to their right.
