Accessible Paths Fund

The Accessible Path Fund is a collaboration between the Cairngorms National Park Authority and the Cairngorms Trust which aims to improve access to the outdoors for everyone. It supports projects that enhance the accessibility of existing paths to ensure everyone can enjoy the National Park with confidence and independence.

The Cairngorms Accessible Paths Fund is dedicated to improving access to the outdoors and the chance to connect with the National Park’s special qualities for everyone, regardless of mobility, age or fitness.

The fund will distribute grants ranging from £300 to £2,000 for works and projects that develop or enhance the accessibility of existing paths to ensure that everyone, including those living with disabilities, health conditions or with limited mobility can enjoy the National Park.

The fund will support projects that improve accessibility on community paths or core paths. Projects could be physical upgrades or repairs, the addition of benches or sensory features, or adding waymarking or accessible interpretation such as braille signs. An accessible paths toolkit has been created containing more information about accessible paths, how to audit an existing path and identify improvements, which can then be submitted for grant funding.

The fund is open for community organisations and community groups to apply to.

Visit the Cairngorms Trust website for more information and to apply.
