Board Meeting - August 2020

This document contains the agenda for a Cairngorms National Park Authority board meeting. The meeting was held on Friday, 28 August 2020, at 2.30 pm via video conferencing. The agenda included welcome, apologies, declarations of interest, a decision on board standing orders and elections (presented by David Cameron, Director of Corporate Services), any other business (AOCB), and the date of the next meeting (Friday, 11 September 2020).

This document contains a proposal for amending the Cairngorms National Park Authority's standing orders to allow for the election of a new Deputy Convener. Because of COVID-19 restrictions, current business continuity arrangements temporarily suspended elections. This paper proposes a new election process, including nomination procedures, a timetable for voting (using a single transferable vote system), and tie-breaker rules. The board is asked to approve these changes, which will only affect the election and then revert to the agreed-upon standing orders once completed.
