Carr-Bridge Path Closure

Small pieces of asbestos have been found on 730m of path constructed in Ellan Wood Carr-Bridge. The path has been closed until the risk has been more fully assessed and advice is being sought with regards to the remedial action required. Members of the public are asked to obey all signs and remain out with the affected area.

Pete Crane, the CNPA’s Head of Visitor Services said: “We are working with the Woodland Trust, The Highland Council, SEPA and the Cairngorms Outdoor Access Trust to establish the exact nature of the contamination and how this has happened.

“We understand the risk to health is minimal but sensible precautions must be taken until we know more. The community and others will be kept up to date as the investigation progresses and we hope that action to remedy the problem will be swift to ensure that this popular path can re-open as soon as possible.”
