An extraordinary number of people have been involved in fighting the fire in Abernethy and Glenmore to date, work that is still ongoing. We remain deeply grateful for the heroic efforts of all involved in what continue to be challenging conditions.

Although the wildfire in Glenmore and Abernethy remains ongoing, the wider Cairngorms National Park – including the community and businesses of Nethy Bridge – is still open, with many attractions and routes for people to explore. There is an ongoing wildfire situation in Glenmore and Strath Nethy within the Cairngorms National Park, albeit the situation continues to improve and the majority of the National Park is unaffected (with Glenmore, Aviemore and Nethy Bridge all open to the public).
