The closing date for entries to the Cairngorms National Park’s Design Awards have now passed and it looks like the judges will have a tough job on their hands deciding on the winners.

Head of Planning at the Cairngorms National Park Authority (CNPA), Gavin Miles said: “We are delighted to have received over 30 high quality entries for the 2016 Cairngorms Design Awards with submissions ranging from houses to bridges and offices to tourist attractions. It’ll be interesting to see what the judges make of them all.”

The Cairngorms Design Awards were first run in 2012 and showcased some truly inspiring entries. With 2016 being Scotland’s Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design, the CNPA decided it was time to bring them back, with the awards aimed at recognising exceptional standards of design and craftsmanship in the Park.

Judging will take place over August and September with judges visiting shortlisted entries during this period. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in mid-November.
