We encourage everyone who loves the Cairngorms National Park to engage with our content. To maintain a welcoming environment across our social media feeds, we may hide or delete comments that are abusive, misleading or spam, or review an account’s access to this page if repeated comments of this kind are posted.
- What you post should always comply with that platform’s Terms of Use.
- Please be respectful and kind. We welcome diverse perspectives about the Cairngorms National Park and work undertaken here, but interactions should not be personal, and should always be respectful.
- Think about privacy – please do not share personal details such as your address or phone number, especially with anyone you don’t know.
- Content of an abusive nature or spam will be reported to the platform.
Examples of comments that might be removed:
- Comments that share harmful or misleading information about the activities of the Cairngorms National Park Authority.
- Comments that personally attack anyone associated with the Cairngorms National Park Authority, whether they are employees or volunteers. This includes, but is not limited to, instances such as name-calling, abuse and sharing of personal information.
- Comments unrelated to the original post, especially instances where unrelated comments are repeatedly posted.

The new fire byelaw
How the Cairngorms National Park Authority and its partners are tackling the threat of wildfires, including details on the recreational fire management byelaw, in place from 1 April to 30 September each year.

Very high fire risk - 15 to 20 July
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has issued a very high wildfire warning impacting areas of the National Park on Wednesday 15 until Monday 20 July. If you are out and about in the Cairngorms National Park please observe the following guidance:
- Do not light any fire or barbecue, in line with the new fire byelaw
- Always ensure cigarettes are fully extinguished and take your litter (including glass) away with you
- Enjoy the outdoors responsibly - most wildfires are caused by human activity
- Stay alert - with dry vegetation and warm weather, fires can start easily, spread rapidly, and burn intensely
- If you see a wildfire, dial 999
