We are currently working on the preparation of our next Local Development Plan and we need your help.
Alongside Scottish Government’s National Planning Framework 4, the plan will set out the rules for development within the National Park. This includes how much new housing needs to be built and where and which areas need to be protected from development.
To inform the preparation of the next Local Development Plan, the Park Authority must consider implementation of the adopted Local Development Plan 2021. This paper provides information on the Park Authority’s assessment of the adopted Local Development Plan’s outcomes, policies and allocated sites. The paper also looks at the relationship of the Local Development Plan’s policies with National Planning Framework 4; the difference the introduction of National Planning Framework 4 may have made to the usage of some Local Development Plan policies; and suggests where additional local policies will be required to supplement National Planning Framework 4 in our next Local Development Plan. We want to hear your views on these matters. Please click to read the below document before completing the survey.

If for some reason we can’t adopt changes you’ve suggested, your comment will be referred to a Reporter in the Scottish Government Directorate of Planning and Environmental Appeals later in 2025 and you may be asked to provide more information to support your position.
