Eleanor was directly elected to represent electoral ward four of the Cairngorms National Park, in Moray. Communities in this ward include Cockbridge, Glenlivet, Strathdon and Tomintoul. Eleanor was born and brought up in Glenlivet and continues to live there having run a family farm with her husband on Glenlivet Estate which has now been taken over by their son. She spent 25 years working with the Clydesdale Bank latterly as a financial advisor and serves on various community groups including the Tomintoul and Glenlivet Heritage Lottery Landscape Project Board.
