Lauren MacCallum is the directly elected representative of the Cairngorms National Park electoral ward two, covering Highland. Communities in this ward include Aviemore, Boat of Garten, Coylumbridge and Feshiebridge.
Lauren is a dynamic and passionate advocate for community and climate action. In the role of Managing Director of Protect Our Winters UK, Lauren takes a leading position in mobilising the outdoor sports community for climate action. With a career spanning both the literary and broadcast realms, Lauren is also an accomplished author and broadcaster, contributing expertise and insights to the BBC and award-winning environmental and social films. Lauren is a sought-after voice in the world of climate communications due to having the ability to communicate complex issues in a relatable and compelling manner.
Lauren is passionate about our communities in the Cairngorms National Park and believes “they have the answers to the many challenges we face, and those solutions need to be championed so that nature and people can thrive together.” When not filming, writing or working Lauren is a keen snowboarder, splitboarder, mountain biker and loves rugby union. Lauren also loves walking her whippet Whisky in our amazing hills.
