This document contains important advice for enjoying the Cairngorms National Park responsibly. To help protect wildlife and the beautiful landscape, visitors should avoid fires and barbecues between 1 April and 30 September, using camping stoves instead. Dog owners must keep their pets on a short lead from April to August, especially near ground-nesting birds and protected wildlife. When wild camping, always leave no trace by packing out all litter, camping in small groups away from sensitive areas, and moving locations regularly. If you need to use the toilet outdoors, make sure you are at least 30 meters away from water, dig a hole for solids, and take all toilet paper with you. Everyone should also respect other visitors and wildlife when using lochs and rivers, giving space to animals and following local signs.
