Flood Resilience Strategy consultation response

This document contains a response from the Cairngorms National Park Authority to the Flood Resilience Strategy consultation. The Park Authority supports the strategy, which focuses on creating flood-resilient areas through community involvement, bringing local and national benefits. They agree with the strategy's aims to increase woodland, restore peatlands, and reconnect rivers to help manage water flow, and highlights the need for a joined-up approach, place-based national policy, and collaboration among public sector partners. The Park Authority also emphasizes the importance of rural payments for managing land and supports community empowerment in flood resilience planning and highlights the need for investment from private and public sources. They are currently leading a River Dee Resilience Strategy and are willing to work with the Flooding Team on this model.
