Comments for Planning Application 2026/0135/DET

Application Summary Application Number: 2026/0135/DET Address: Land 284M East Of Cairngorm Mountain Glenmore Aviemore Proposal: Proposed mountain toboggan track and associated structures, buildings, platforms, landscaping and infrastructure works Case Officer: Heather Boswell

Customer Details Name: Mr Peter Long Address:

Comment Details Commenter Type: Community Council Stance: Customer made comments in support of the Planning Application

Comment Reasons: Comment: Aviemore and Vicinity Community Council supports this application, and recognises its potential benefits in developing Cairngorm Mountain as a year round visitor destination. The CC does have some questions regarding the operation and management of the proposed development. In particular there appears to be a potential risk to other hill users where the track is close to the existing path, with the possibility of children or off-leash dogs getting too close. There also seems to be a risk of collision with wildlife — in particular the reindeer herd — and we would welcome clarification of the management arrangements intended to mitigate these risks.

Please accept our apologies for the delay in responding to the consultation, I have had time to read all the additional documentation submitted and can confirm in relation to the areas queried in our support statement previously the areas of additional information supplied are satisfactory and answer those issues. I would like to take this opportunity to request to speak in support of the application when this comes to the planning committee.

Many thanks
