Proposed development at 6 Glenshee Road, Braemar

From Rob Kennedy Date Thu 16/07/2026 18:47 To Planning Planning@cairngorms.co.uk

As a member of Aberdeenshire South Access Panel, it was pleasing to see that architects EMA appear to have responded positively to a call from us that in four plans proposed of the new development, more attention should be paid in the layout and design of bedrooms and bathrooms and toilets for those with a disability. More significantly, EMA have agreed to look at the possibility of providing a wheelchair flat in the development. This suggests to me there could be a case for at least two disabled flats out of 12 with a need to have new disabled parking in close proximity. It is also arguable that introduction of more disability coverage could allow more families from a wide area to stay at the same holiday destination without disabled feeling a bit abandoned back at home! Those who feel this is not financially it would be surprised by the level of cash in the “Oldster” population!
