Good After­noon,

Re: APP/2026/0579 Full plan­ning con­sent is being sought for 12 ser­viced apart­ments, plus manager’s apart­ment. Plans also include install­a­tion of air source heat pump and asso­ci­ated infra­struc­ture: Brae­mar Lodge 6, Glen­shee Road, Braemar.

The plans for the above were con­sidered by Aber­deen­shire South Access Pan­el and the fol­low­ing com­ments were made:-

Apart from the wide access door, it is very dis­ap­point­ing that there is no pro­vi­sion made for any­one with a dis­ab­il­ity either in the bed­rooms or bath­rooms and toilets.

As you may be aware, UK wide, dis­abled people have a dis­pos­able income of £50 bil­lion with £15.3 bil­lion spent in the past year. Loc­al exper­i­ence indic­ates that their friends and rel­at­ives also favour busi­nesses that are favour­able towards dis­abled people.

We respect­fully request that con­sid­er­a­tion is giv­en to the recom­mend­a­tions above to ensure your devel­op­ment can bene­fit from this sig­ni­fic­ant mar­ket sector.

The com­ments are addi­tion­al to the require­ments of the Build­ing Stand­ards Veri­fi­er and are to assist you in work­ing towards meet­ing your duties under The Equal­ity Act 2010 and BS8300. The Pan­el asks that their com­ments are giv­en due consideration.
