These cross-sections and long section show the point bar, pool and riffle features in a more realistic way. The cross-sections are at a scale of 1:5000 with distance in metres along the x axis and height in metres AOD up the y axis. The long section has the same vertical scale but distance has been compressed due to the length of the section. The new channel is between 9.8m and 13.5m wide, 0.5m deep and pools are an additional 0.5m deep.

As mentioned in the Design Drawings document, there is some flexibility allowed for in the channel design to create as natural a finish as possible using rough surfaces, variable bank angles (within limits), the placement and forming of the gravel to create the riffle and point bar features and the excavation of pools and inset berms (a lowering of the bank edge) to add depth and width.

Cross Section D‑D¹ of Riffle 6 (to scale 1:5000 @A3) and long section E‑E¹ from Pool 6 down the channel to beyond Riffle 6 (compressed horizontal scale)
