This document contains a Habitats Regulations Appraisal for planning application 2019/0386/NOT regarding the erection of a forestry building near Baddengorm, Carrbridge, within the Cairngorms National Park. The appraisal, dated 31 January 2020, examines the potential impact of the proposal on several Special Protection Areas (SPAs), including Abernethy Forest, Anagach Woods, Cairngorms, Craigmore Wood, and Kinveachy Forest, with a particular focus on species like capercaillie, Scottish crossbill, osprey, dotterel, golden eagle, merlin and peregrine falcon. The assessment concludes that the proposal is likely to have a significant effect on capercaillie populations due to increased disturbance, which could adversely affect the integrity of the SPAs; therefore, it cannot be shown that there would be no adverse effect on the integrity of the 5 Strathspey SPAs classified for capercaillie.
