This document contains comments objecting to a planning application (reference number 2019/0386/NOT) for the erection of a forestry building in Baddengorm Wood, Carrbridge, submitted to the Cairngorms National Park Authority (Park Authority). The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) Scotland and the Badenoch & Strathspey Conservation Group (BSCG) both express concerns that the building's construction and use will disturb the capercaillie population, a protected species, and could set a precedent for further development in the area. The RSPB Scotland and BSCG suggest the Park Authority would not be able to enforce conditions to sufficiently prevent disturbance and that the building is not essential for forest management, potentially leading to the abandonment of nearby lek sites.
