This document contains friendly advice for visitors to the Cairngorms National Park, encouraging everyone to enjoy its beauty responsibly while protecting its wildlife and landscapes. To prevent wildfires, please do not light campfires or barbecues between 1 April and 30 September, using gas stoves for cooking instead. If you're with a dog, keep it on a short lead, especially from April to August, to protect ground-nesting birds and farm animals. When wild camping, always leave no trace by staying away from sensitive areas, keeping groups small, and removing all your rubbish. For personal hygiene, use public toilets when available, or move at least 30 metres from water, burying solid waste and packing out toilet paper. When enjoying the water, remember to share it respectfully with wildlife and other people, avoiding disturbance to nesting areas. By following these simple guidelines, we can all help keep the Cairngorms National Park special.
