This document contains important guidelines for enjoying the Cairngorms National Park responsibly and protecting its unique environment and wildlife. To prevent wildfires, please don't light fires or use barbecues from 1 April to 30 September, and instead use gas or liquid fuel stoves for cooking. When walking your dog, always keep it on a lead near ground-nesting birds between April and August, and also around livestock or in designated wildlife areas. If you're camping, choose your spot carefully away from buildings and paths, leave no trace of your visit, and move your camp every few nights. Remember to respect water sources by using public toilets or going at least 30 metres away from lakes and rivers, burying solid waste, and taking all toilet paper with you. Finally, when on the water, be considerate of wildlife and other users, avoiding nesting sites and following local rules. By following these simple rules, you'll help keep the National Park special for everyone.
