Blair Atholl community invited to Cairngorms 2030 drop-in event

People who live and work in Blair Atholl are being invited to come along to a family-friendly community drop-in event on Saturday, 20 June to find out more about projects happening in and around the area.

Taking place outside the Blair Atholl Visitor Information Centre from 11am to 4pm, the informal event will offer people who live and work in the area the chance to meet with staff from the Cairngorms National Park Authority and partner organisations over tea, coffee and biscuits, while learning more about a range of initiatives taking place across the National Park.

Visitors can drop in at any time throughout the day to chat with project teams, share their views and hear about opportunities to get involved in shaping the future of their local area.

Topics on display and open for discussion will include nature-friendly farming, peatland restoration, the new fire byelaw, community funding opportunities and the Cairngorms 2030 programme. Attendees will also have the chance to contribute to the Cairngorms National Park Local Development Plan and tell staff about the local landscapes that matter most to them.

As well as information stands and conversations, there will be plenty to keep all ages entertained, including fun family activities and short, sociable guided health walks departing at 11.30am and 2pm.

David Clyne, Head of Cairngorms 2030 at the Cairngorms National Park Authority, said: "This event is a great opportunity for people who live and work in Blair Atholl to come along and find out more about the progress of the Cairngorms 2030 programme and lots of other initiatives taking place in the area.

"It is really important to hear feedback and thoughts from the people who live and work in the National Park to help inform our work and how we work together. I'd like to encourage everyone to come along to this event for a coffee and a chat."

The event is free to attend and open to everyone who lives and works in Blair Atholl. No booking is required. You can find more information, including event and venue accessibility information, here on this dedicated event page.
