Go ahead for Slugain Burn project

The Cairngorms National Park Authority Planning Committee met today and approved an application, subject to conditions, for a restoration project at Slugain Burn near Carrbridge.

The project aims to restore natural river processes, improve habitats and create a low-maintenance and resilient tributary of the River Dulnain. The work includes river channel realignment, habitat restoration, road realignment, revised river crossing and installation of culvert.

The Committee were also asked to note a Proposal of Application Notice for a proposed new 400kV substation and underground cable connection at Laggan, Newtonmore.
