Today we’ve launched a website and interactive map dedicated to collecting views on the issues affecting the people who live and work in the Cairngorms National Park as we begin to gather information for the next Cairngorms Local Development Plan.

The Cairngorms Local Development Plan helps guide development in the National Park, including where affordable housing, community facilities and economic development will go, and we need your views to shape the next one.

Members of the Park Authority planning team were at the Grantown Show yesterday and they had a busy day speaking to lots of people about a range of topics, including affordable housing, climate change and the local economy. The team will also be at a number of community action planning meetings in the National Park throughout August and September and will be attending the Lonach Gathering too.

You can use our interactive map to provide your views on the issues facing places within the National Park and what you think the Cairngorms Local Development Plan can do to address them by visiting the website here. Your views will help us create a plan focused on the needs of people living and working in the National Park.

This map will be open for comment until the end of September 2023.

After September, the views gathered will be used to inform an evidence report, which will be the basis for preparing the first draft of the Local Development Plan.
