Holding Outdoor Access Events – open meeting
Holding Outdoor Access Events – open meeting
Are you planning a bike, hike, running or other outdoor event in the Cairngorms National Park?
If so, don’t miss this meeting, organised by the Cairngorms National Park Authority (CNPA)
– Wednesday 28 October 2009 at the Boat of Garten Community Hall, 1230 – 1600.
The Cairngorms National Park is a great place to hold events, but only well-planned and managed
events can provide rich experiences for those taking part. Well organised events help both land
managers and local residents and minimise associated problems.
Adam Streeter-Smith, Outdoor Access Officer at the Cairngorms National Park Authority (CNPA)
explained: “We appreciate that the National Park is an inspiring place to hold outdoor events – especially
if it’s in aid of a worthy cause – but we would encourage organisers to plan and choose their locations
carefully in order not to impact negatively on wildlife, land management practices, and other peoples’
enjoyment of the outdoors.
“We promote responsible outdoor access and have organised this open meeting for people who
are involved in planning, organising and hosting outdoor events in the Park.”
This open meeting is for event organisers, land managers and others and will provide an
opportunity to look back on outdoor events in 2009 and look forward to 2010. To find out more
or book your place, contact Catriona Campbell at the CNPA on tel: 01479 873535
