New John Muir Manager for Cairngorms

New John Muir Manager for Cairngorms
The John Muir Award – a national environmental award scheme – has a new manager in the Cairngorms.
Alan Smith is based at the offices of the Cairngorms National Park Authority in Grantown-on-Spey.
The John Muir Award, the educational initiative of the John Muir Trust, encourages groups or individuals of any age to discover, explore, conserve and share their experiences of wild places, whether they’re on their doorstep or further afield.
Alan’s job is to encourage more people to get involved in the scheme and guide participants through the process, providing advice and assistance, and linking the Award structure with environmental and outdoor programmes and activities.
Assisting Alan in his quest to encourage more people to get invloved is a new DVD (also available in video format) all about the John Muir Award. The 16 minute film introduces the viewer to the scheme and the work of the John Muir Trust. It is an invaluable resource to anyone who may be interested in taking part in the John Muir Award.
For more information on the John Muir Award in the Cairngorms, or for a free copy of the DVD/Video, please contact Alan on tel: 01479 870 518 or email: [email protected]
