New members join CNPA Board

The CNPA has bid farewell to two of its members and has welcomed a couple of new faces to the Board.

The Scottish Executive announced this morning (24 September) that Aberdeenshire councillor, Cllr Marcus Humphrey and, Cllr Sandy Park from Highland Council will officially join the CNPA Board from 25 September.

Cllr Humphrey is a chartered surveyor and has been involved in farming, forestry, tourism and land management in the Cairngorms area for many years. Cllr Sandy Park is the Provost of Nairn and is Chair of Highland Council’s Planning, Development, Europe and Tourism Committee. He also sits on the Council’s Transport, Environment and Community Services Committee and the Northern Joint Police Board.

The duo replace the outgoing members Cllr Peter Argyle from Aberdeenshire Council and former Highland councillor, Bob Severn.

CNPA Convener Andrew Thin said:” I would like to thank Peter Argyle and Bob Severn for all their hard work and support during these early days of the Cairngorms National Park. They have both made a very valuable contribution to the work of this organisation and we wish them well in the future.”

A warm welcome is extended to our two new Board Mambers.
