Regenerative transition support package
The regenerative transition support package is open for applications from farmers and crofters in the National Park who want to transition to a whole-system regenerative farming approach.
This package will provide support for the farm to undergo that transition from 2026-2028. It will include training workshops, one-to-one coaching, bespoke farm planning and access to additional small capital grant support (subject to separate application).
The support package is part of the Cairngorms 2030 future farming project, funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, with thanks to National Lottery players.
What will it support?
Successful applicants will receive:
- A series of training workshops led by an experienced regenerative advisor covering upland farming context, grazing and livestock health. These workshops will be delivered to the successful farmers as a group, with the location of the workshops likely to rotate around the different farms.
- One-to-one coaching to develop bespoke plans for a regenerative transition on your farm.
- Capital grants to support the farm’s transition (subject to a separate application process and awarded on a case-by-case basis).
Please note the additional capital grant support is not guaranteed to farmers who successfully get accepted onto this support package.

This package builds on the process that one of the pilot farms in the Cairngorms future farming project has gone through in their whole-system change to regenerative farming, which was the subject of our first knowledge-exchange event in July 2025 at Blair Atholl.
How is an application assessed?
The application will have two stages: an initial form that will be sifted by a panel to create a shortlist of applications, who will then have a short video call interview. The form and interview will be assessed for:
- Enthusiasm and commitment to a regenerative transition
- Ability to make decisions and change management on their land
- Willingness to be involved in knowledge exchange. Successful applicants will be required to commit to at least:
- Hosting two farm events (organised by the Park Authority and co-delivered by the farmer and advisor) for other farmers to share your experience using the tool.
- Providing at least one piece of media about your experience in a format of your choice (e.g. video diary, blog post, image post, interview, etc).
- Supporting the Park Authority and advisor to create written case studies by allowing and supporting the gathering of data to monitor progress and farm and environmental outcomes.
If over-subscribed with committed applicants, we will prioritise getting a range of locations, farm types and sizes across the National Park.
If we receive fewer than the minimum number of applicants, those who have applied will be granted funds to attend a shorter two-day training course, with follow-up bespoke advice from a regenerative consultant.
How can I apply?
Applicants should complete the application form below, which will open on Monday, 9 February 2026 and close on Friday, 27 February at 5pm. If you would prefer to fill out your application by phone or in person, please call 01479 873535 or email [email protected].
Interviews will be held at a time and date to suit the applicant during April or May 2026.
Applicants will be notified of whether they have been invited for an interview by the end of May 2026.
