Gavin Miles, Director of Planning and Place
Gavin Miles, who grew up in Royal Deeside, is a graduate of Glasgow and Strathclyde universities and has been a chartered town planner since 2003.
Gavin joined the Park Authority in 2004 as a planner working from the Ballater office and undertook a variety of different roles, before becoming Head of Planning and Communities in 2015 and Director of Planning and Place in 2024.
In his current role, Gavin oversees our Planning, Rural Development and Visitor Services teams. Before joining the Park Authority, he spent six years working for a planning and environmental consultancy based in Glasgow.
