Making Aviemore walking, cycling and wheelchair friendly

This document contains information about a project to improve walking, cycling, and wheelchair access in Aviemore, part of the Heritage Horizons: Cairngorms 2030 programme. The project aims to make it easier and safer for both residents and visitors to get around Aviemore without a vehicle by improving infrastructure and public spaces. Feedback from local residents, gathered through various means like school lessons and online engagement, has identified key issues such as poor pavement surfacing, missing dropped kerbs, and a lack of cycle parking. Concept designs are being developed for areas like Grampian Road and Dalfaber Drive, and construction on some improvements, like dropped kerbs, could begin in late 2025, after funding is secured.
