High ranking for Park Authority in Sunday Times list
The Cairngorms National Park Authority (CNPA) has been ranked 25 in The Sunday Times 75 Best Places to Work in the Public Sector 2010.
More than 200 public organisations from schools and hospitals to police forces and local authorities competed for their chance at being included on the list which highlights public sector employers that have the best employment practices and happiest workplaces.
The CNPA was singled out for leading by example through its Greening Group which looks at ways of cutting its impact on the environment. It also received a top three score for small organisations with 72 per cent of staff believing it is doing what it can to protect the environment.
Other highlights included 75 per cent of CNPA staff considering that it is making a positive difference to the world and that the training they receive is very beneficial.
Convener of the Cairngorms National Park Authority, David Green said: “It is encouraging that so many of our staff believe that the work they do at the Cairngorms National Park Authority makes a real difference to the environment we live in. Greater staff satisfaction leads to our objectives being delivered more effectively, on time and to a higher standard. Our staff are a great asset not just to the CNPA but also to the Cairngorms as they strive to look after and enhance this unique and special area.”
