Kincraig paths

Set in a magnificent location at the foot of the Cairngorms and on the shores of wonderful Loch Insh, the small village of Kincraig has much to offer from shorter strolls through woodland and around lochans, to climbs up to spectacular viewpoints.
Four trails starting in the heart of the community explore the village, nearby woodland, farmland and riverside providing lovely views of loch Insh.
Six further trails take you to nearby Feshiebridge area and Inshriach forest, including Uath lochans and Farleitter crag. The mixed pine forest with an understorey of blaeberry and heather are home to a rich variety of wildlife. These sites have their own parking areas, or you can reach the Uath lochans from Kincraig by following the Speyside Way (approximately three and a half miles).
To the north of Kincraig the trail to the Duke of Gordon’s monument giving spectacular views over Badenoch and Strathspey is not to be missed.

Need to know
We hope you enjoy exploring the trails around Kincraig, but please do so responsibly. The National Park is a special place with rare wildlife, some of which is sensitive to disturbance. You can help protect the local wildlife by following all signs and keeping dogs close by and on a lead where requested.
Please help conserve ground nesting birds in Inshriach forest by keeping your dog on a short lead and on the path from April to mid-August.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has issued a wildfire warning impacting parts of the National Park from Wednesday 13 August until Tuesday 19 August. If you are out and about in the Cairngorms National Park please observe the following guidance:
- Do not light any fire or barbecue.
- Always ensure cigarettes are fully extinguished and take your litter (including glass) away with you.
- Enjoy the outdoors responsibly - most wildfires are caused by human activity.
- Stay alert - with dry vegetation and warm weather, fires can start easily, spread rapidly, and burn intensely.
- If you see a wildfire, dial 999.
