Ian McLaren is an independent councillor, elected in May 2012, representing Angus Council, Forfar and District. Ian is a member of the Administration and is on various committees including Policy and Resources, Communities, Housing, Development Standards (vice convenor) and the Development, Management Review Committee.
Ian owned and ran a successful business in Forfar with his wife for over 40 years but is now retired. He has extensive knowledge of the Angus Glens and surrounding areas and is very interested in wildlife and conservation.
In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities such as gardening, fishing and walking in the Glens.
