Call for views on Core Paths Plan
The Core Paths Plan is a statutory plan that designates a network of paths sufficient to provide reasonable access for the public to enjoy the outdoors across the Cairngorms National Park.
This plan helps the Park Authority and its partners identify investment priorities, support health, wellbeing, and the local economy, and reduce impacts on land management activities.
Full public engagement and consultation were undertaken in the development of the Core Paths Plan, which was adopted in 2010 with a revision published in 2015. We are now reviewing the plan again, and are asking people to share their thoughts as part of a consultation phase.
How to provide feedback on the informal consultation
The Core Paths Plan informal consultation is open until 31 August 2025.
- Find out more about the core paths plan here
- Give feedback using the interactive map here
- You can also provide feedback by email quoting the core path reference number available on the map here or from this list here to [email protected]
- The Park Authority team are happy to meet with community organisations, land managers and other stakeholder groups to discuss the Core Paths Plan review in person.
Following this informal consultation, a formal statutory consultation will take place in spring 2026. For more information, please email [email protected]
