Making getting around the National Park easier, safer and greener
A core part of our Cairngorms 2030 programme is to make getting around the Cairngorms National Park easier, safer and greener. By improving foot and cycle paths, public spaces and other travel infrastructure, our aim is for it to be more enjoyable for everyone to walk, cycle or get around using a wheelchair. This will bring benefits for people's mental and physical health, and it will also help cut carbon emissions by reducing the number of short journeys made by car.
Over the past few years we've heard from communities across the National Park about their priorities for this area of work. The project is now progressing through the design and construction stages, from changing pavements and crossings to developing new and improved paths connecting our towns and villages.
Help shape the plans for your local area
We will share our plans as they develop on this page for you to view and comment on. We will also be arranging a series of drop-in events in the locations where work is proposed, giving you a chance to view the proposals up close, ask questions of the team involved and share your views. Please check back regularly as this page will be updated often over the coming months.
