The Cairngorms 2030 programme is investing in infrastructure to improve everyday journeys for everyone.
We are working on design proposals for a safe, separated cycling and walking route between Aviemore town centre and Badenoch and Strathspey Community Hospital. An important part of this is working with people who care about their local area to help them shape the proposals.
We are aiming to include the following:
- Sections of safe, separated cycle route
- Pavement upgrades and traffic calming along Grampian Road and Dalfaber Drive
- Bus stop improvements on Grampian Road

This project has been made possible through the Cairngorms 2030 programme, supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Transport Scotland. Construction timescales will depend on available funding.

There is an ongoing wildfire situation in Glenmore and Strath Nethy within the Cairngorms National Park, albeit the situation continues to improve and the majority of the National Park is unaffected (with Glenmore, Aviemore and Nethy Bridge all open to the public). Click here for all the latest. We would encourage members of the public to follow current guidance and be aware that the situation may change.
Various paths and trails remain closed. Check out our path closures page for all the latest updates.
