Effective community engagement

Three people having a conversation in front of information boards.

Community engagement is at the heart of our work in the National Park. This project is dedicated to finding new and creative ways to make sure that more people from a wide variety of backgrounds who hold diverse life experiences can contribute, and get involved in the National Park.

This project is particularly focusing on building meaningful relationships with people who haven’t engaged with the National Park before, and communities who are underrepresented in decision making spaces. This involves working closely with communities, learning more about the barriers that exist and finding ways to prioritise accessible, inclusive engagement methods so that nobody is locked out of participation.

Through Cairngorms 2030 we’ll test out ways that we can better connect with people across the National Park, share our learnings locally and nationally, and get out and about across the Cairngorms to hear from people directly about the things that matter to them.
