Laggan has many paths and trails to explore suitable for all skill levels and abilities. Discover the area’s rich history while enjoying fine views, stunning waterfalls and an abundance of wildlife.
Formerly referred to by its longer Gaelic name of Lagan Achaidh Droma, which translates to ‘hollow at the field of the ridge’, Laggan has occupied a strategic position at the centre of the Scottish mainland where historically, travellers, soldiers, cattle drovers and packhorse teams found a warm welcome.
Don’t miss out on seeing the centre of Scotland stone on the Glentruim forest loop or take one of four trails to the stunning Falls of Pattack. For the more adventurous hiker, take a trip back in time, 2,000 years, to the ancient Pictish fort at Dun da Lamh - a scheduled monument site.

Need to know
We hope you enjoy exploring the trails around Laggan, but please do so responsibly. The National Park is a special place with rare wildlife, some of which is sensitive to disturbance. You can help protect the local wildlife by following all signs and keeping dogs close by and on a lead where requested.
Cattle may be present in the fields and woods so please keep your dog under close control and follow any signs.
