The Local Development Plan (LDP) enables the right kind of development to happen in the right place to help deliver the aims of the National Park. All planning applications in the National Park are assessed against the LDP.
Cairngorms National Park Local Development Plan 2021
The Cairngorms National Park Local Development Plan was adopted by the CNPA on 26 March 2021.
In line with the Coronavirus (Scotland) Act 2020, paper copies of the Plan are not currently available for inspection, however once restrictions have eased paper copies will be available during opening hours at the CNPA office in Grantown-on-Spey, at public libraries in the Park and some Council offices in the Park.
The CNPA has also prepared a suite of non-statutory Planning Guidance to help support the delivery of the LDP. Further Supplementary Guidance (SG) and non-statutory guidance will be issued for consultation shortly.
You can view and download our guidance below or request it at the CNPA office in Grantown-on-Spey. The guidance will also be available at public libraries and Council Service Points in the National Park once they are open.

The LDP Action Programme
The Local Development Plan has an Action Programme that sets out how the plan will be implemented. The current Action Programme was developed to support the Proposed Plan and will be updated in summer 2021.
