Call for views on the next Local Development Plan for the Cairngorms National Park

10th June 2024

The Cairngorms National Park Authority has launched a series of surveys to collect views on issues affecting the people who live and work in the Cairngorms National Park to help inform the next Local Development Plan. The Plan helps guide development in the National Park, including where affordable housing, community facilities and economic development will go.

People who live and work in the National Park can use the dedicated website to provide feedback on a series of surveys on topics including historic and cultural heritage, economic development and housing. These surveys will go live in stages on the site between June 2024 and the end of the year.

Gavin Miles, Director of Planning and Place at the Cairngorms National Park Authority, said: “Thank you to everyone who shared their views last summer on the interactive map and dedicated website we set up for people who live and work in the National Park to feed into the next Local Development Plan.

“We used your views and ideas to help develop a set of online surveys that we’d now like you to take part in so we can gather evidence to create the draft Local Development Plan. It is important that local people have a say in the Plan and so I’d urge everyone who lives and works in the National Park to visit the website and complete the surveys.”

The feedback from those who live and work in the National Park will be used to inform an Evidence Report, which will the basis for preparing the first draft of the Local Development Plan in late 2025.
