Non-statutory guidance: Sustainable Economic Growth, Resources and Open Space, Sport, and Recreation
The Local Development Plan 2020 will guide development in the Cairngorms National Park over the period 2020-2025 and into the longer term. In preparation for its adoption, the Cairngorms National Park Authority is producing new Supplementary and non-statutory guidance to support its implementation. We are seeking your views on the form and content of this guidance.
Supplementary and non-statutory guidance is being produced to help guide the implementation of most of the Local Development Plan’s (LDP) policies. In order to ensure people have time to fully consider these documents, the National Park Authority is staggering the consultation dates.The guidance which is being consulted on in this period is:
- Sustainable Economic Growth non-statutory guidance;
- Resources non-statutory guidance; and
- Open Space, Sport and Recreation non-statutory guidance.
It’s important to be clear that this is not an opportunity to comment on the policy content of the LDP itself. Neither can the guidance introduce new requirements that are not already part of policy. Rather, the non-statutory guidance aims to provide an explanation and supporting information to help implement the policies of the next LDP. This consultation is therefore an important opportunity for you to influence its content.
Further non-statutory and supplementary guidance will be consulted on later in the year.
