Jackie Brierton MBE appointed as member of the Cairngorms National Park Authority board

The Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs, Land Reform and Islands, Mairi Gougeon MSP, today announced the appointment of Jackie Brierton as a member of the Cairngorms National Park Authority board.

Sandy Bremner, Convener at the Cairngorms National Park Authority, said: “I would like to congratulate Jackie on her appointment. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience to help us deliver our ambitions for nature and people. Her passion for entrepreneurship will be especially helpful, given the vital importance of small businesses to the wellbeing of communities in the National Park.”

Jackie Brierton has been involved in enterprise development for over 30 years and is CEO of rural enterprise organisation, Growbiz Scotland. She is one of Scotland’s Rural College’s entrepreneurs-in-residence and is Co-Chair of Perth and Kinross Business Partnership. She believes that supporting entrepreneurship and enterprise plays an essential role in developing a resilient rural economy.
