Local Development Plan 2021
The Local Development Plan enables the right kind of development to happen in the right place to help deliver the aims of the National Park. All planning applications in the National Park are assessed against the Local Development Plan and Scottish Government's National Planning Framework 4.
Cairngorms National Park Local Development Plan 2021
The Cairngorms National Park Local Development Plan was adopted by the Cairngorms National Park Authority on 26 March 2021.
Paper copies of the Local Development Plan are available during opening hours at the Park Authority office in Grantown-on-Spey, at public libraries in the Park and some Council offices in the Park.

Planning Guidance
The Park Authority has also prepared a suite of non-statutory Planning Guidance to help support the delivery of the LDP. Further Supplementary Guidance and non-statutory guidance will be issued for consultation shortly.

The suite of supplementary guidance documents listed above have been subject to screening for Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA). The SEA screening report was subject to consultation with consultation authorities in July 2022, with the determination and statement of reasons published August 2022.
The LDP Action Programme
The Local Development Plan has an Action Programme that sets out how the plan will be implemented.
Development Plan scheme
The Development Plan Scheme sets out a planning authority’s programme for preparing and reviewing their development plan. As the local planning authority for the Cairngorms National Park, we are required to prepare a Development Plan Scheme every year.
