Quality signs will mark the entrances to the Cairngorms National Park
7th July 2004
The Cairngorms National Park Authority is moving ahead with plans to erect gateway signs, which will mark the entrances to the Cairngorms National Park.
Although designs have yet to be finalised, the favoured option at this stage is a collection of signs made from granite slabs which will be cut to evoke the shapes of the Cairngorms mountains.
Andrew Thin, Convener of the Park Authority said: “Visitors to the Park should be greeted with a sign that reflects how special a place the Cairngorms National Park is and this means that quality signage has to be the option we explore.”
“Now that a decision has been made on the type of signage that is most appropriate, Park Authority staff can liaise with potential funding partners to assess if this option is achievable.”
