The Spey is one of Scotland’s most iconic rivers, renowned for its purity and natural beauty. Having taken stock of progress to date (published as the River Spey Catchment Management Plan Review 2016 and available online at www.speyfisheryboard.com), a new plan for the Spey will focus action for the next 5 years and beyond and is presented below. It sets out a strategic framework for the wise and sustainable use of the water resource and for the protection and enhancement of water quality and natural heritage for the public benefit.
