About the Authority

The Cairngorms National Park Authority provides leadership for the Cairngorms National Park, tackling the big issues in the Park in a collaborative way, based on the aims as set out in the National Parks (Scotland) Act 2000

Grant Moir, Chief Executive of the Cairngorms National Park Authority, explains what we do

Cairngorms National Park Authority logo

The Cairngorms National Park was established in September 2003 and the Cairngorms National Park Authority became fully operational, taking on all its statutory powers, on 1 September 2003.

Designed to be an enabling organisation, promoting partnership working and giving leadership to all those involved in the Cairngorms National Park, the Park Authority does not duplicate the work of other organisations, such as the enterprise agencies or NatureScot. It ensures there’s a joined-up approach to projects and initiatives that help to meet the four aims of the Park. Our Communications & Engagement Strategy sets out how we will achieve this.

National Park Aims (Gaelic version)

The four aims set out in the National Parks (Scotland) Act 2000 are:

  1. To conserve and enhance the natural and cultural heritage of the area
  2. To promote sustainable use of the natural resources of the area
  3. To promote understanding and enjoyment (including enjoyment in the form of recreation) of the special qualities of the area by the public
  4. To promote the sustainable economic and social development of the area’s communities

With a staff of 120, plus 19 board members, the Park Authority has two statutory functions – planning and development and outdoor access – and is responsible for developing and producing a Local Development Plan, Core Paths Plan and National Park Partnership Plan, as well as a number of key strategies.

Corporate Guidance

A Management Statement and Financial Memorandum has been issued to the Park Authority to enable it to discharge its functions.

Mu dheidhinn an Ùghdarrais

Is e ceann-uidhe Ùghdarras Pàirce Nàiseanta, dèanamh cinnteach gun tèid amasan na Pàirce Nàiseanta, a rèir Achd nam Pàircean Nàiseanta (Alba) 2000, an coileanadh còmhla ann an dòigh a tha co-òrdaichte.

Amasan nam Pàircean Nàiseanta

’S iad na ceithir amasan a rèir Achd nam Pàircean Nàiseanta (Alba) 2000:

  1. Dualchas nàdarra agus cultarail na sgìre a ghlèidheil is a leasachadh;
  2. Brosnachadh a thoirt do chleachdadh stòrasan nàdarra na sgìre ann an dòigh a tha seasmhach;
  3. Gum faigh am poball barrachd tuigse is tlachd (a’ gabhail a-steach tlachd à cur-seachadan) à feartan sònraichte na sgìre;
  4. Brosnachadh a thoirt do leasachadh seasmhach eaconamach is sòisealta mu choinneamh choimhearsnachdan na sgìre

Tha na Pàircean Nàiseanta ann an Alba eadar-dhealaichte bho phàircean nàiseanta eile oir tha iad le amasan sòisealta agus eaconamach cho math ri amasan a thaobh glèidheil, tuigse agus mealtainn na h-àrainneachd.  Tha seo a’ toirt aithne àraidh don fheadhainn a tha a tha ag obair agus a’ gabhail còmhnaidh sa Phàirc. Tha na h-amasan seo uile le inbhe cho-ionnan. Ma thachras, ge-tà, gum bi comhstrì ann eadar glèidheil is leasachadh an dualchais nàdarra ’s chultarail agus amasan eile, tha Ùghdarras na Pàirce a’ leigeil barrachd cuideim air an amas seo.

Ùghdarras Pàirc Nàiseanta a’ Mhonaidh Ruaidh (CNPA)

Chaidh Pàirc Nàiseanta a’ Mhonaidh Ruaidh a stèidheachadh san t-Sultain 2003 agus thàinig Ùghdarras Pàirc Nàiseanta a’ Mhonaidh Ruaidh (CNPA) gu bith – le chumhachdan reachdail – air 1 Sultain 2003.

Tha an CNPA ag obair mar bhuidheann chuideachaidh, no chomasachaidh; a’ brosnachadh obair chom-pàirteachail agus a’ toirt stiùireadh dha gach neach/buidheann a tha an sàs am beatha air a’ Mhonadh Ruadh. Chan eil an t-Ùghdarras a’ dèanamh na h-aon obrach ’s a tha buidhnean eile, leithid Iomairt na Gàidhealtachd, Iomairt na h-Alba no Dualchas Nàdair na h-Alba. Tha e ann gus ceanglaichean a thogail eadar pròiseactan agus iomairtean a tha ag obair chum amasan na Pàirce. Tha an Ro-innleachd ’son Conaltradh is nam Meadhanan CNPA a’ toirt inneas air mar a thèid an t-amas seo a choileanadh.

Le 120 luchd-obrach agus 19 buill air a’ bhòrd-stiùiridh, tha Ùghdarras na Pàirce le grunn dleastanasan reachdail aige; leithid làimhseachadh mar a tha a’ Phàirc ga cleachdadh, manaidseadh planadh agus leasachadh na Pàirce, agus foillseachadh Plana Leasachaidh na Sgire is Plana Com-pàirteachail na Pàirce Nàiseanta.

Stiùireadh Corporra

Thathas air Cunntas air Làimhseachadh agus Meòrachan Ionmhais a thoirt seachad dha Ùghdarras na Pàirce ach am bi e comasach dhaibh an obair aca a dhèanamh. Back to top
